Prayer for Prison Doors to Open

Acts 16:25–34

The Prayer

Around midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns while imprisoned, their feet in stocks despite severe flogging.

God Answered

A violent earthquake shook the prison, all doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.

“Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open…” (v. 26)

For You Today

God can shake loose what binds you—physically, emotionally, or spiritually—when you worship and pray in difficult places.

James 5:13–18

The Prayer

The early church elders prayed over the sick, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord, confessing sins to one another.

James declares that the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise them up.

“The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.” (v. 15)

Acts 4:23–31

The Prayer

After Peter and John were threatened for preaching, the church gathered and prayed not for safety, but for boldness to continue speaking God’s word.

God Answered

The meeting place was shaken, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and spoke God’s word with boldness.

“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” (v. 31)

For You Today

God doesn’t always remove our challenges—sometimes He fills us with supernatural courage to face them with holy boldness.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

John 17:9–26

The Prayer

Jesus prayed intimately for His disciples’ protection, unity, sanctification—and for all who would believe through their message.

This prayer is still being answered today as believers are kept, united, and made holy through God’s Word.

Jesus Himself prayed for you. You are covered by the High Priest’s intercession, included in His prayer for unity and protection.
